7th Parkview Huntington Community Gala
Dr. Todd Sider received the Dr. R.B. Peare and Dr. John B. Kay Award for Excellence in Healthcare to highlight the 7th Parkview Huntington Community Gala, held April 7 at the PAL Event Center in Huntington.
Dr. Sider was saluted for his 14 years as a surgeon in northeast Indiana, including the past five years as a member of Parkview Physicians Group – General Surgery. In months to come, he will assume new duties of medical director of the wound clinic now being built as part of Parkview Huntington Hospital’s Rehabilitation and Wellness Department expansion.
The gala is organized by the boards of Parkview Huntington Foundation and Parkview Huntington Hospital. Nearly 150 guests attended the event and $23,775 was raised for the foundation’s Remembering Holly Fund. The fund honors the late Holly D. Sale, the hospital’s Rehabilitation and Wellness director and for whom the expanded facility will be named. The Remembering Holly Fund will be used exclusively for needs that arise in the new areas.
Jeremy Nix, chair of the foundation board of directors, presented Dr. Sider with the award as Mrs. Helen Peare and Mrs. Sharon Kay looked on. Dr. Sider was selected from a group of nominees by a committee representing hospital leadership, the hospital and foundation boards, the medical staff, and the community.
Dr. Sider joins physicians J. David Carnes, Anil Rao, and Duane Hougendobler, and registered nurses Ruth Wall, Mary Wilson and Marilyn Rittenhouse as Peare-Kay Award recipients.
Information on the 2019 event will be coming soon.
